Yeah, yeah – it’s true what ‘they’ say. Mornings are important. We try – key word, try, to eat bountiful, and healthy and spend time together as a family. Connected, working together to get out the door. It’s uber hard at times as our cup, it runneth over. We are ripe. It’s a juggle to eat healthy and plan those meals and source it as locally as possible when you’ve got as much on the go as we do. Not complaining really – who could have ever imagined how much life would change with the babe. I suppose it would not have taken a genius to figure that prior to the WSL’s birth, that we were worn thin. Mostly happily, thin. We’ve recently re-evaluated our lifestyle, what’s important – keeping quality of life as the goal. So, this is our last year as organizers with The Eaglewood Folk Festival. Sad, but true. The time has come to focus our energies on our family, our health, our livelihoods, our friends, and community work a little more local, a little less demanding. Not that we ultimately don’t love Eaglewood and the work we do, it’s just plain too much and the time has come to pass on the reigns. Anyhoo, I ramble. Shocker. I was aiming to share our usual breakfast with y’all. To share that it REALLY does make a difference in how the day unfolds, how we feel and how productive we are. Especially as new parents rockin’ little sleep.

Instructions? Really? Put all that stuff in a blender and have at’er. Cut some other fuit to eat. Load up on the fruit. You know what ‘they’ say about apples. It’s true. Some seeded spelt toast with peanut butter (the REAL stuff) and a wee bit of honey. That should do you through till the end of time. Or running around doing a cajillion mommy/house/business things and a kickbutt workout – perhaps missing lunch but trying really hard not to.
Speaking of the D Grove Farmer’s Market, Thursdays are THE day to go and see/hook-up with friends. I love my hood! We ran into a bunch of pals and had fun after shopping and drinking chocolate joining forces with the wee ones to the park. There’s the biggest splash pad I’ve ever seen, a community bonfire and the coolest mini Cob Homes made up into a teensy village complete with a mosaic fence and rooftop garden. Created courtesy the fabulous Red Pepper Spectacle Arts, a community based youth and arts collective that just happen to run the Kid’s Town at Eaglewood. The couple who run it are two of the eight of our boy Wyndham’s sponsors. More on that another time.
*Update* Dang I got a lot done today, but I am whipped and feeling like I have too much on the go. How am I doing all this? How will I keep doing all of this? Posting this when I feel so wrung out…the other me will surely be back shortly. Just keep on drinking smoothies in the morning with love. If only it were that simple.
